Dynamic Wellness Lectures:
Do you belong to a group or organization looking for a speaker? I will speak on a diversity of healthy topics to any size group. Is your civic or business organization tired of uninspired speakers with long power point presentations? Are you part of a moms group that would like tips on getting your kids to give up chicken nuggets? Is your office staff sluggish and in need of some healthy tips? Does your church group want to learn about a Biblically inspired diet? Or do you just have a few friends who would rather learn the benefits of a whole food diet than attend one more jewelry party!? I will inspire your group in a fun and fact-filled session. I also speak to children and school groups including tweens and teens (see below).
School Programs:
Are you an educator needing to fulfill your state Wellness Policy requirements or a Brownie Troop leader whose girls need to earn their nutrition badge? I will bring a dynamic 30 – 40 minute presentation to your children. The program introduces children to their cells and organs and why certain foods help them to grow and function. It is an interactive program with many opportunities for participation and discussion. Children will learn how sugar and junk food harm their cells and why their parents are always asking them to eat vegetables. This is the perfect introduction to a nutrition unit for elementary aged children.
Teen & Tween Programs:
Does your tween or teen roll their eyes the moment you criticize their food choices or serve them something green? Are you afraid that their eating habits are setting them up for poor health in the future? I offer a variety of programs for this dynamic, but sometimes defiant age group. If you put together a group of eight or more, I will come to your location or provide a location where we can meet. In a low threat, fun session, I’ll inform, inspire and empower your teen to make healthy choices.
What’s Inside You and Why Should You Care – For children ages 5-12
This three lesson program teaches the what, why and how of healthy eating.
The first session is interactive look at our amazing 75 trillion cells and how they need certain foods to work. We will look at specific foods and talk about what they do (good or bad) for a body. The second session addresses “why” we eat. We will talk about habits, comfort food, boredom, even stress eating can happen at a young age. Body image will also be discussed. And then in the third class the children will be encouraged to work on the “how”. This session is about empowering them to make the wise decisions. They’ll be presented with different scenarios (school, birthday parties etc) when they make their own food decisions and how to make wise choices. We’ll also talk about ways they can get more fruits and vegetables into their diets.
Whole Food Classes:
Several times a year I offer a two part lecture series called: The Benefits of a Whole Food Diet. This course is your primer to changing your eating habits. We’ve all heard “It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle.” Learn exactly why the current US diet is not meeting our nutritional needs and how simple changes can keep you healthy for life and slow the aging process. If you put together a group of eight or more, I’ll bring this session to you. This is a perfect lunch-time event for your office or networking group.
Free Supplement Consultations:
Whether meeting with you one-on-one or with a group of your friends, I’ll tell you all about the supplement industry, why you need supplements and which ones to choose. The supplement industry is not highly regulated so it is important to choose wisely. Half hour supplement consultations are free of charge.
Pantry Make Overs:
Do you know the dangers hiding in your pantry? Are you ready to make healthy changes for your family? It’s time for a PANTRY MAKEOVER! I’ll come to your house and rate the contents of your pantry and refrigerator. I encourage children to participate in this exercise and I will talk with them about their food and snack choices. Then I’ll suggest better alternatives and how to get started on your Wellness Roadtrip!
